Question 1

Can I scan the barcode from this page?

Accepted Answer

The barcode is drawn from the same text the pass carries, so a scanner reads it the same way it would in Wallet. Whether a gate, door or till will accept it shown on a screen this way is the issuer's choice, so for a flight or an event, keep the issuer's own app or printed pass to hand as well.

Question 2

How do I open a .pkpass on Android or Windows?

Accepted Answer

Android and Windows have no built-in Wallet, so the file has nowhere to go. Some wallet apps on Android can import it; this page shows it in any browser without installing anything.

Question 3

Is the pass genuine?

Accepted Answer

This page shows what the pass says; it does not check the issuer's digital signature, so it cannot tell you a pass is real. Trust a pass because of where it came from, such as an email from the airline you booked with, not because it opens here.

Question 4

Can I add the pass to Google Wallet from here?

Accepted Answer

No. This page only shows the pass. It does not add it to any wallet or send it anywhere.

Question 5

Is my boarding pass uploaded?

Accepted Answer

No. The file is read by this browser tab on your own device. A boarding pass barcode carries your name and booking reference, which is a good reason not to upload one anywhere.
