Can I get a PDF out of it?

Yes. The PDF button renders the formatted document rather than the source, so you get the preview as you see it.

Which flavour of Markdown is this?

It renders with marked, which follows CommonMark with GitHub-style extensions - so fenced code blocks, tables and task lists all work.

Is the HTML output safe to paste into my site?

The preview is sanitised with DOMPurify before it is displayed, so script tags in the source do not execute. Review anything you did not write yourself before publishing it.

Is my document uploaded?

No. Editing, rendering and exporting all happen in the page, so an unpublished draft stays on your machine.

Does it save my work if I close the tab?

Yes, in this browser. The draft is saved to the browser's own storage as you type and is back in the editor next time you open it. It never leaves your machine, and clearing site data removes it - so for anything you want to keep for good, download the .md as well.

About this Markdown editor

Write Markdown, or open a .md file, with a live HTML preview beside it, then export the result as Markdown, as HTML, or as a PDF. There is a full-screen mode for longer pieces.

Nothing is saved to a server, so it suits notes you would not paste into a hosted editor. It is free to use, with no account and no upload limit, and it runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded, and while the page stays open, a feature you have already used keeps working offline.

Type in the left pane, or press Open to load a .md file. The rendered result appears on the right as you go.
Use the toolbar for headings, bold, italic, code, links, lists and quotes if you would rather not remember the syntax.
Go full screen when the preview matters more than the rest of the page.
Export: copy the Markdown or the HTML, or download .md, .html or a PDF.
