Question 1

How do I get a Telegram sticker as a .tgs file?

Accepted Answer

Telegram Desktop's export (Settings, then Advanced, then Export Telegram data, with stickers ticked) saves the stickers from your chats as .tgs files, which this page opens. Stickers belong to the people who drew them, so convert others' stickers for your own use.

Question 2

Why does my GIF have rough edges?

Accepted Answer

A GIF pixel is either completely see-through or completely solid, so the soft, half-transparent edges of a Lottie animation have to be rounded one way or the other. Choose the colour of the page or chat the GIF will sit on as the background and the edges are smoothed onto it. MP4 has no transparency at all; the WebM option with a transparent background keeps soft edges, where your browser can make it.

Question 3

Why does part of my Lottie animation not move?

Accepted Answer

It probably uses expressions: small scripts written in After Effects that drive some properties. This page does not run them, for safety, and says when an animation has them. Most animations made for apps and stickers use none, because the mobile Lottie players do not run them either.

Question 4

Can I make a Telegram sticker from a Lottie file?

Accepted Answer

If it follows Telegram's rules, yes: open it, read the sticker check, and save it as .tgs. Every failed rule is listed with what the file has. Rules about the canvas, frame rate and length are fixed in After Effects (or the app that made the animation), not here. Then send the .tgs to Telegram's @Stickers bot to add it to a pack.

Question 5

Is my animation uploaded?

Accepted Answer

No. The file is read, played and converted by this browser tab on your own device, and nothing is sent anywhere.
