Can I see the 3D model of a Revit file here?

No. Revit stores the geometry in a format Autodesk does not publish, so no program but Revit, and Autodesk's own online viewer, can draw it. Ask whoever sent the file for an IFC export - Revit's File, Export, IFC - and open that in the IFC Viewer, or for a PDF of the views you need.

Which version of Revit do I need to open this file?

The version shown under Saved by, or a later one. Revit opens files from older versions (upgrading them), but never from newer ones: a family saved in Revit 2025 does not open in 2024. Families from manufacturers are often saved in an old version on purpose, so everyone can load them.

Why are some parameters empty?

A parameter can be left for the person placing the family to fill in, such as a mark or a comment, and some take their value from the model the family is loaded into. Revit lists them all the same.

Is my Revit file uploaded?

No. It is read by this browser tab on your own computer. Nothing in it, including the folder it was last saved in, is sent anywhere, and that folder is only shown if you ask.

About Revit files

Revit is Autodesk's building design program, and its files open only in Revit, on Windows, with a subscription. A .rfa file is a family: one object - a door, a desk, a light fitting, a pump - that manufacturers publish for architects and engineers to drop into their models, often with a dozen sizes or finishes as types. A .rvt file is a whole building project; .rft and .rte are the templates both start from. People download families from manufacturers' sites and BIM libraries all the time, and often need to know what one is before they have Revit to hand.

Beside the model, Revit stores a description of each file for other programs to read: the thumbnail, the version it was saved in, and for a family its category and every parameter with its value, type by type. This page reads that. The 3D model itself is in a format Autodesk does not publish, so it is not drawn. It is free to use, with no account and no upload limit, and it runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded, and while the page stays open, a feature you have already used keeps working offline.
