Question 1

Why does my .ai file only show a message about PDF content?

Accepted Answer

It was saved with Illustrator's "Create PDF Compatible File" option turned off, so the file holds no PDF copy of the artwork, only a page saying so. Ask whoever made it to save it again with that option on, or to send a PDF.

Question 2

Why do I only see a small preview of my EPS file?

Accepted Answer

An EPS file's artwork is a PostScript program, and web browsers cannot run PostScript. The preview is the picture the file carries for programs like this one; it is usually low resolution and sometimes black and white. To see the artwork itself, open the file in Inkscape (free), Affinity Designer or Illustrator.

Question 3

Can I convert the AI or EPS file to PNG or SVG here?

Accepted Answer

No, this page only shows the file. To turn a picture into another format, use the Image Toolkit; to keep a vector copy of an .ai file, open it in the PDF Toolkit, since it is a PDF inside.

Question 4

Is my artwork uploaded?

Accepted Answer

No. The file is read and drawn by this browser tab on your own device, which matters for logos and designs that are not public yet.
