Merging presentations is what you need when several people each make a part of a talk, when you put a course together from separate lectures, or when you want one file to hand over after a meeting. PowerPoint's Reuse Slides does it one deck at a time and can change the slides' look to fit the first deck; online mergers upload your files. This page combines whole files at once, in your browser. It is free to use, with no account and no upload limit, and it runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded, and while the page stays open, a feature you have already used keeps working offline.
The slides are not redrawn or converted. Each presentation's own parts - its slides, their slide masters, layouts and theme, pictures, videos, charts with their data, and notes pages - are copied into the merged file under new names, with every link between them put right, so a slide looks and behaves exactly as it did in its own file. The merged file has one set of slide masters per original deck, which you can see in PowerPoint under View, Slide Master. Old .ppt files are converted to .pptx in memory first, by the same code as PPT to PPTX.
- Will each presentation keep its own design?
- Yes. Each deck's slide masters, layouts and theme go into the merged file with its slides, so every slide keeps its fonts, colours and backgrounds. This is like PowerPoint's Reuse Slides with Keep source formatting ticked, done for whole files at once.
- What if the presentations have different slide sizes?
- A presentation has one slide size, so the merged file uses the first one's, and the page warns you before you merge. Slides from a deck of another size, say 4:3 slides in a 16:9 deck, are not stretched or shrunk: their contents keep their positions and may sit to one side or run past the edge. Put a deck of the size you want first, or change the size afterwards in PowerPoint under Design, Slide Size, which can scale the contents.
- Are speaker notes, videos and charts kept?
- Yes. Notes, pictures, videos and sounds embedded in the slides, and charts with their data stay with their slides. Linked videos (stored outside the file) stay linked, as before. Comments are kept for the first presentation's slides only, because each file keeps its own list of comment authors.
- Can I merge old .ppt files?
- Yes. PowerPoint 97-2003 files are converted to .pptx in your browser first, by the site's own reader, then merged. Their text, shapes, pictures and notes come across; see PPT to PPTX for what that conversion keeps. Files from PowerPoint 95 and earlier are not read.
- Is there a limit on the number of files?
- Up to 100 presentations, each up to 500 MB. The merged file is built in the browser's memory, so very large decks full of video are best merged a few at a time on a computer.
- Can I merge PowerPoint files on a phone?
- Yes. Open this page in Safari or Chrome, tap the box and choose the presentations from Files or Downloads, put them in order with the arrows and press Merge. The .pptx is saved to Files or Downloads.
- Are my presentations uploaded to be merged?
- No. The files are read and combined in this browser tab on your device; nothing is sent to this site or anywhere else.
