Does resizing here strip the GPS location out of my photo?

Re-encoding through the canvas drops the original EXIF block, so the location, timestamp and camera serial number a phone writes into a photo do not survive into the exported file. If that is why you came, check the output rather than taking my word for it.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. They are decoded and re-encoded in the page. A photograph is often the most revealing file someone owns, and these never leave your machine.

Can I convert several images at once?

Yes. Drop in a batch, set the options once, press Process images, and Download all gives you the lot.

Which format should I pick?

Accepted Answer

WebP for the smallest file at a given quality, JPG for the widest compatibility with older software, PNG when you need a lossless copy or transparency. The resulting size is shown before you download.

Question 5

Can the redaction be peeled off afterwards?

Accepted Answer

No. It is painted into the image data when the file is processed, not kept as a separate layer.
