A long chat, a receipt, a web page or a list of settings rarely fits on one screen. Take several screenshots as you scroll, add them here, and they are joined into one tall picture: each pair is lined up where the content repeats, so nothing is shown twice, and the status bar, title bar or tab bar that is on every screenshot is kept once, at the top and bottom. Every seam can be checked close up and moved a pixel at a time.
The screenshots are matched by comparing their rows of pixels, then drawn into the result in your browser. A very tall result is more than some browsers can make in one picture (iPhone and iPad stop at about 16.7 million pixels), so it is then saved in parts, top to bottom, in a ZIP. It is free to use, with no account and no upload limit, and it runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded, and while the page stays open, a feature you have already used keeps working offline.
- How much should the screenshots overlap?
- A few lines of text is enough: an eighth to a third of the screen. With no overlap at all there is nothing to match, so the seam is marked and the screenshots are simply put one under the other, which you can then adjust. Scrolling exactly one screen at a time often leaves no overlap, so scroll a little less.
- Why is a seam marked as not matched?
- Where the shared part is plain background, repeats (such as identical list rows), or something moved between the screenshots (a video, an animation, a timestamp), there is no single place where the rows agree. Open the close-up and move the seam until nothing repeats or goes missing across the red line.
- Can screenshots from different devices be joined?
- Yes. Top to bottom, every screenshot is scaled to the width of the first, so screenshots of the same page at different sizes still line up, though one taken at a lower resolution will look softer. Side by side, each is scaled to the height of the first.
- Why was my picture saved in parts?
- Browsers limit how big one picture can be: Safari on iPhone and iPad to about 16.7 million pixels (for a 1170-pixel-wide iPhone screenshot, about 14,000 pixels tall), other browsers to more. A taller result is cut into parts that each fit, numbered top to bottom, and saved together in a ZIP.
- Are my screenshots uploaded?
- No. They are opened, matched and joined in this browser tab on your device, so private chats and documents stay private.
