Free math to braille converter: Nemeth and UEB
Type LaTeX or paste an equation from Word and get it in Nemeth or UEB technical braille, with alt text and MathML for the same equation, in your browser with nothing uploaded
The braille, the spoken description and the MathML are on the Accessibility tab under the editor.

Favourites
Star an equation with ☆ Favourite to keep it here.
Recent
The last eight equations you copied, saved or replaced appear here.
Your shortcuts
Nothing by that name. Try copy, download, matrix 3x3, alpha or graph.
Type \ for a list of commands. Tab jumps to the next blank.
My macros
Define a command once and use it in every equation, as in a LaTeX preamble. Copy LaTeX gives the equation as you typed it, so add these lines to your document's preamble too.

The Copy button remembers where you paste: next time it offers Word & PowerPoint first. Ctrl+Enter copies from anywhere in the editor.
Type the problem in the editor above, then your working here, one step per line. Each line is checked against the line before and the problem, and then your final answer. Try an example fills in a short worked example with one deliberate mistake.
Problem
For example 2x = 8 on one line and x = 4 on the next. Write "or" between answers (x = 2 or x = 3), ± is fine, and so is interval notation. Start a line with = when rewriting an expression or working out a derivative or integral.
One equation a line, in LaTeX, up to 200. Each becomes its own picture, numbered by line, or they all go into one Word document.
Equations from a Word file
Open a .docx to list every equation in it, with the words around each, and click one to edit it here. Old Equation Editor 3.0 and MathType equations are converted to Word equations, in a new .docx to download; in a .doc or .rtf they are listed to copy. You can also drop the file on the editor.
Paste from Word or a web page
Copy an equation in Word, or MathML from a web page or another editor, and paste it here or straight into the LaTeX box: it arrives as LaTeX, ready to edit.
Alt text
The spoken description appears once the equation is drawn.
Made by the MathJax speech rules. The same description is built into every .svg and used as the alt of a copied HTML image.
MathML
The MathML appears once the equation is drawn.
MathML stays machine-readable, so screen readers can read it out and step through it.
Braille
For teachers preparing maths for blind students, braille transcribers, and anyone who reads braille: the equation in Nemeth, the US maths code, or in Unified English Braille (UEB) technical, used in the UK, Canada, Australia and other countries. Made in your browser by MathCAT.
The braille appears once the equation is drawn.
Copy braille gives Unicode braille cells, which keep their dots in documents and emails. BRF is the North American ASCII braille that embossers, notetakers and braille software read. MathCAT follows the BANA Nemeth Code and the ICEB guidelines for technical material; as with any automatic braille, have it checked before it goes to a student, and let your braille software lay out long equations and matrices.
SVG stays sharp at any size; PNG is the safer choice for slides and chat. Alt text describes the equation in words for screen readers, and is built into the .svg. Your equation, settings, Recent list, Favourites and the Copy destination you used last are kept in this browser, so a reload does not lose them.
